Civil Rights Data Collection Information

Published: 5/8/2024 3:39 PM

The United States Office of Civil Rights (OCR) conducts the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) for data on key education and civil rights issues in our nation's public schools. The CRDC includes a variety of information including student enrollment, and educational programs and services. Most of the data is disaggregated by race/ethnicity, sex, limited English proficiency and disability.

The CRDC is a local education agency (LEA) data collection, and each district is responsible for reporting and the quality of its data. To minimize the burden on districts, the Kentucky Department of Education helps by prepopulating data that is available at the state level.

Timeline for the 2021-2022 CRDC
  • The 2021-2022 CRDC has closed. After the data is reviewed for data quality, a limited number of LEAs will be contacted to participate in the Data Quality phase for the 2021-22 CRDC. These LEAs will be contacted individually by the Office for Civil Rights.
