School and Public Libraries

School Library

Your child’s school may have summer reading and learning resources tailored specifically for your community. Many school librarians/media specialists make summer resources available through your school and district and work with teachers to provide online learning and reading opportunities throughout the summer.

Contact your child’s school to ask what resources and online learning experiences are offered to students and their families during the summer months.

Public Library

Your local public library may also have online resources such as ebooks and audiobooks for your child to enjoy during the summer. Many Kentucky public libraries belong to digital content consortiums or have their own collections, which will have a vast catalog of titles for you to download and read with your child for free.

Visit the Kentucky Public Library Directory to find a public library near you and to learn what virtual services your local library is offering as well as how to access the library’s online resources.
