The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), Division of Technical Schools and Continuous Improvement, has an opening for an Education Program Consultant – MOA position.
This position serves Eastern Kentucky and will be a remote field position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to the Division Director through consultative services and technical assistance in the development and implementation of career and technical education operational procedures for schools, regions, or program administration and New Teacher Institute.
- Provide technical assistance to school and district personnel regarding Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs including but not limited to work-based learning, career, and technical student organizations and CTE accountability.
- Provide technical assistance to school and district personnel regarding professional learning activities and continuous improvement plans for CTE staff and programs.
- Provide assistance to program, school and district staff on attainment and appropriate use of CTE funding.
- Provide guidance and professional assistance to program, school, and district staff on best operational practices of CTE including alignment to community workforce.
- Serve as a liaison between local districts and OCTE along with serving on various committees and task force cross agency teams. Provide support to the Division Director as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education or a related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
- Three years of professional experience in administration, education, career and technical education, or a related field.
- Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Department of Education or Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement. Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the required educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers' Retirement System.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment.
NOTE: This position will be filled through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The applicant selected for this position must be an employee of a Kentucky local school district or institution of higher education.
