The department's major activities include:- Administering the statewide assessment and accountability system;
- Providing technical assistance to schools and districts in the areas of finance, management and curriculum;
- Providing support and information to the Kentucky Board of Education as it promulgates state education regulations;
- Overseeing the state education technology system; and
- Monitoring school and district compliance with state and federal laws.
- Providing instructional services to students at Kentucky School for the Blind, Kentucky School for the Deaf and the Area Technology Centers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provides high-level professional administrative support to the Division of Resource Management, human resource liaisons, agency supervisors, internal and external clients.
Assist staff with personnel/payroll issues when requested.
Coordinate the Department of Education (KDE) interview scheduling process to ensure compliance with KDE and Personnel Cabinet's requirements.
Interpret, apply and enforce KDE & Personnel Cabinet's regulations, policies and procedures.
Schedule all KDE job interviews, create and disburse interview schedules to panel members.
Provide technical assistance to applicants regarding the application process as requested.
Draft, submit, monitor and remove job announcements and correspondence for KDE and KY Educator Placement Service (KEPS) websites.
Respond to and request education verification documents for employees upon receipt, submit to Personnel Cabinet with allotted timeframes.
Draft and submit probationary letters to managers for approval and ensure receipt of approved letter prior to probationary increment.
Facilitate and coordinate the ordering of appropriate badges for new staff.
Order replacement badges.
Ensure destruction of badges and the cancellation of badge access when appropriate.
Ensure receipt of payment for replacement badges and delivery to the Division of Budget and Financial Management.
Serve as liaison between KDE and the Finance Administration Cabinet.
Draft and submit Career Service Certificate letters for Commissioner's signature and attach with Career Service Certificate and distribute to KDE employees.
Responsible for the intake of Outside Employment applications. Ensure completed correctly and attach employees position description and most recent personnel action to application and send to Legal Services for review/approval or denial. Maintain all information in a spreadsheet.
Learn to become familiar with register request process within MyPurpose. Upon request forward applications, all necessary documents, including registers and interview documents for hiring manager.
Develop knowledge of the KHRIS system and navigation within the system. Upon request, search and view employee information to determine dates of employment, organization unit, salary and position description.
Manage incoming phone calls for the division.
Distribute mail to the division upon receipt.
Schedule meetings, reserve conference rooms upon request Maintain personnel files, getting them sent to archives.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience,
