What keeps you motivated and passionate about your work in education?
"100% the kids. Every child deserves someone who will invest in them. They don’t always experience love in their home so I show up every day knowing that it could be the day I say or do something that allows even one kid to know that they have someone who truly cares."
What do you wish more people understood about the impact of teachers in society?
"Teaching is the profession that creates all others. It’s the most important work with our world’s most valuable resource — our kids."
The EPSB emphasizes the importance of educators exemplifying responsible and ethical behavior. How does the EPSB's Code of Ethics impact your approach to teaching and professional conduct?
"Understanding that while you are forming those relationships with your students that you have to remain the professional and laying clear guidelines. I want to get to know my students but I always make sure they understand that I am their teacher and have to follow an ethical code."
