What aspects of teaching bring you the most joy and satisfaction?
"Hands down, the best aspect of teaching is helping students discover their passion. Once I see that fire light inside them, I view my role as one to help them figure out their purpose. It is the most rewarding when students reach back after they have graduated to share where their journey has taken them. It makes me very proud to know that I was there to help them figure out their way."
What keeps you motivated and passionate about your work in education?
"Every student. Every day. They are so unique and individualized that no two students are the same and on a broader scale, no two days are the same. I also enjoy helping others grow and develop to reach their full potential beyond students. The field of education is filled with dedicated professionals and I want to ensure I am doing all I can to support their growth and development as well."
The EPSB emphasizes the importance of educators exemplifying responsible and ethical behavior. How does the EPSB's Code of Ethics impact your approach to teaching and professional conduct?
"Education is a profession, and as such, a professional code of conduct is an important aspect of this field. We are entrusted with the lives and livelihoods of others, mostly children, and we must ensure we maintain the highest ethical standards. Every single one of us represents all of us, and so we all must strive to be the very best we can be. Our profession, and everyone it encompasses deserves nothing but our best."
