What aspects of teaching bring you the most joy and satisfaction?
"I love finding new and better ways to reach my students each year. I love seeing their confidence grow. I love connecting with and building life-long relationships with my students. I love being involved in my professional math community throughout the state. I love working with pre-service teachers and helping them building their own self-efficacy. I love being a leader within my department and school. I am honored to serve on the EPSB Board and help continue to elevate the professionalism of education. I love advocating for public education. I love constantly working to improve my classroom, my craft and myself for my students."

What do you wish more people understood about the impact of teachers in society?
"I wish that people, teachers included, realized that we have so much more of an impact on students that just on their academic and content learning. Teachers have the ability to help students know that they are capable of reaching and attaining more than what seem like pre-determined paths before them. Teachers teach empathy, resilience, problem solving skills, conversation skills, responsibility, determination, and so much more. Our classrooms become safe spaces for students that don't have them at home. Our educators become role models with the power to help students believe and know that they can be anything. I wish that people know I carry each and every kid in my heart forever, and the kids teach me as much at times as I as I teach them. I want the best and brightest in our classrooms, helping shape the future of our education system for all of us to achieve more."
The EPSB emphasizes the importance of educators exemplifying responsible and ethical behavior. How does the EPSB's Code of Ethics impact your approach to teaching and professional conduct?
"The EPSB Code of Ethics challenges us as educators to do what is best, and right, for our students and their learning each and every day. We are working to do what is best for them, in coordination with them, their families, the school community and their lives. We are pushing them to achieve more, setting high standards, and holding them accountable to those standards, while helping to teach them kindness and empathy along the way. We should be challenging our teammates and other educators to do the same as well. We are all working towards the greatness that our students can achieve."
