The Kentucky Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Early Learning, Division of State Schools, Kentucky School for the Deaf, has an opening for a KSD Outreach Consultant covering the regions of the Kentucky Educational Development Corporation (KEDC) and the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provides statewide outreach consultation, assessment services, professional development opportunities and support for children, families, district personnel, and community members to support children who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing.
Provides consultation and technical assistance to families, district personnel and/or service providers.
Provides or recommends resources/materials for families and other providers; collaborates with the child's other service providers such as speech therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, etc. or assists other consultants.
Organizes and leads Cadre meetings for DHH teachers and providers and in the Cooperative area.
Provides professional learning opportunities via parent and professional conferences, school level and educational cooperative presentations.
Organizes, leads, and participates in regional or campus events centered upon an educational theme that is aligned to the State Standards and/or Expanded Core Curriculum.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:At time of application, must possess a valid Kentucky Professional Certificate for Teaching Exceptional Children-Hearing Impaired, Grades Primary Through 12 and/or Communication Disorders
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
A minimum of three years of teaching experience working with students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
Knowledge of:Deaf Culture
Fluency in ASL is preferred.
