Many STLP schools have ideas; products or services that can become tomorrow's new business and help build Kentucky new knowledge economy.
The STLP entrepreneurial project centers on providing a service or product that uses technology in some way. The product, service or new idea should impact a person, community or classroom. Many projects develop into a profit making business.
STLP regional showcases provide students an opportunity to show their entrepreneurial thinking in a science fair type setting. The students display information and talk about the idea, product or service. The projects are judged. The very best across the state are asked to display and discuss the project at the state's annual teacher's conference. This allows more teachers and students to begin thinking entrepreneurially.
This year, the very best across the state will be asked to represent STLP at the annual Northern Kentucky University Fifth Third Bank Entrepreneurship Institute Competition. The winners move up to a national level.
