Technology Standards for Administrators

Last Updated on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 8:46 AM

The Education Professional Standards Board reviewed the technology standards submitted by a statewide group of representatives from a variety of agencies and organizations. The Board sent the work to an EPSB Technology Committee consisting of district and school leadership, Kentucky Department of Education, professional leadership organizations, and higher education. This committee met and reached consensus to recommend to the EPSB Board the adoption of the national technology standards for school administrators (TSSA).

The EPSB Board has met and approved the adoption of the TSSA Standards for Administrators. See http://www.kyepsb.net/documents/EduPrep/tssa.pdf. The public hearing has been held and the final process for adoption has occurred. The next step will be to take the administrative standards to the KY State Board of Education for inclusion into the district evaluation system.

The work of TSSA was directed by national leadership organizations, ISTE, and three states. The writing team was recruited nationally and included over 30 leaders from across the nation, including three from Kentucky.

These administrator standards were the work of the TSSA Collaborative. They can be viewed by using the following link: TSSA
