The Technology Impact Review Tool is designed to help schools and districts measure a school's progress in implementing the KETS technology program. The data gathered from the review is then used to guide board and council members, district and school leaders, teachers and community members in policies and procedures that will increase student learning through technology uses. Using the same structure as found in the Standards and Indicators for School Improvement, districts and schools can determine the level of progress, then write components for the school improvement plan for specified areas. Striving to be at level four in all seven domains create a learning environment, rich in academic resources, that supports student learning to meet state and national standards and prepare our students for career and higher education successes.
The ideal way to conduct the review is to recruit individuals outside your school or district to assist in the review. Following the same process as a scholastic review based on Standards and Indicators for School Improvement, the team would look at documentation of inventory, professional development, lesson plans, and other pertinent information prior to conducting interviews and observations. The team would then come to consensus on the level of implementation of each criterion and then write commendations and recommendations for the school and district.
