Kentucky Head Start State Collaboration Office 

The mission of the Kentucky Head Start State Collaboration Office is to increase the accessibility of quality services to low-income children ages 0-5 and their families by supporting the development of partnerships on a state and local level among Head Start programs and services and Kentucky agencies organizations, business and families.

Preschool Lead Teacher Credentials
Beginning Fall 2004, all lead teachers in the preschool program hired into vacated positions must either hold the IECE certificate (birth to primary) or a letter of exemption (given between 1998-2002).


 

Preschool Leadership Meetings
The Preschool Leadership Meetings are held in the spring and fall of each year.  The documents used in these meetings have been scanned and are available for viewing/printing. 


 

Preschool Regional Training Centers
The Early Childhood Regional Training Centers provide a range of services for the early childhood community including regional trainings/workshops, on-site consultations, lending library of materials, annual statewide and regional collaborative institutes. 


 

Probationary Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE).
Teachers with the Probationary IECE certificate are required to complete 18 clock hours of orientation within the first three months of employment as a preschool teacher.  Documentation of this orientation must be submitted to the Division of Early Childhood Development.
