Literacy - PERKS - Instruction and Targeted Intervention

Last Updated on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 10:45 AM

Literacy PERKS (Program Effectiveness Review For Kentucky Schools) is designed for use by school, district, and state-level reviewers.  At the school level, the best use of Literacy PERKS occurs when Literacy Team members complete the review and use the results to develop a schoolwide literacy plan.

Below are two sets of PERKS documents.  The first set contains PERKS for only Instruction and Targeted Intervention and includes resources for each standard.  The second set contains PERKS for each of the Nine Elements of Comprehensive Schoolwide Literacy Programs:  Aligned Curriculum, Multiple Assessment, Intervention and Targeted Instruction, Literate Environment, Partnership: Family/School/Community, Professional Development, Literacy Team, Valuable Resources, Literacy Plan.  This document does not include resources, it merely serves as a shell for schools to review or track their literacy efforts.
