SPP Indicator 13 (Secondary Transition) WebEx trainings were conducted by the Division of Learning Services (DLS) on September 9, 2010, and on September 28, 2010. These trainings occurred, in part, because recent desk audits/onsite visits identified systemic non-compliance with Indicator 13 in many districts.
This training is now available to all districts. Participants will be reminded of the specific regulatory requirements for Indicator 13, and learn how to develop Individual Education Programs (IEPs) that include the required transition content for each youth. Since the training includes opportunities for participants to practice reviewing the file of a student (age sixteen (16) or older) for compliance with Indicator 13, participants should arrange to have a student file available to review.
