The KCMP is used by school districts and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to continuously collect data in a standardized, consistent manner for self-improvement to help ensure the appropriate implementation of IDEA requirements. When available, KDE provides district level data to districts. These data are to be used to examine trends over time and provide additional information for program planning and to achieve and maintain compliance with federal and state IDEA requirements. It is recommended that the KCMP be utilized in developing and revising the CDIP to the greatest extent feasible.
The KCMP indicators have been intentionally designed to support Kentucky in its efforts to reach and maintain state targets as set forth in the six-year State Performance Plan (SPP) that Kentucky submitted to the United States Department of Education Office For Special Education Programs (OSEP).
This website contains all the information, support and data collection documents needed by districts to complete and submit its KCMP document. This process requires each district to submit its quantifiable data from the 2006-07 school year to KDE by November 15, 2007, with the fully completed KCMP Monitoring Document to be submitted to KDE no later than January 30, 2008. All submissions should be uploaded electronically per the KCMP Technical Instructions document that can be downloaded from the Information documents link below.
Training on the KCMP will be provided to districts through their local Special Education Cooperatives in late summer or early fall. It is highly recommended that every district attend this training.
Each district will be emailed a template of their respective KCMP Monitoring Document containing district-specific data available to KDE. Any Director of Special Education who has not received their district’s KCMP Monitoring Document by August 15, 2007 should notify Roger Lacy at Roger.Lacy@education.ky.gov.
