These proposed course descriptions are offered as examples of courses appropriate for serving the needs of English Learners (ELs). KDE and the Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board are working to standardize course codes by using an alternate number field provided through the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), which would not affect the current district and school coding system. The descriptions may be helpful to districts in creating classes to meet the needs of LEP students.
