Read to Achieve: Reading Diagnostic and Intervention Grant
The Read to Achieve Grant Program was created to focus on reading diagnostic and intensive reading intervention for struggling readers within the state primary program. The Reading Diagnostic and Intervention Grant Program is a competitive program that provides funds to schools to implement research-based reading diagnostic and intervention programs.The early reading intervention program selected by the funded school must be based on reliable, replicable research and offer short-term intensive one-on-one or small group instruction in essential skills necessary for reading proficiency.
RENEWAL/CONTINUATION OF RTA EXISTING GRANTS
Continued funding of your RTA grant is contingent upon receipt and final approval of the Read to Achieve End of Year (EOY) Report, a Proposed Budget and the Superintendent and Principal Assurance forms.

ASSURANCE FORMS - Schools must send by U.S. Mail both ASSURANCE FORMS signed and notarized, one by the school principal and one by the district superintendent. (e.g., Report Instructions, Funding Matrices, Assurance Forms, Grant Requirements)

IMPORTANT BUDGET NOTE - The RTA Funding Matrix for ALLOWABLE EXPENDITURES has been REVISED/UPDATED - Some MUNIS CODES (e.g., 0211, 0212, 0213, 0232) NO LONGER APPEAR and are NON-ALLOWABLE.
MORE BUDGET INFO - Upon receipt and review of the budget, it will become part of the Memorandum of Agreement. If, after final review of the budget, the report and the assurance forms, a compliance issue is identified, the school will be notified and technical assistance will be provided.
COST REIMBURSEMENT - RTA is a cost reimbursement grant. Each district will receive reimbursement for funds based upon and supported by quarterly expenditure reports submitted to the Division of Budgets.
WEBEX PRE-RECORDED TRAINING is a recorded session available throughout the year to provide online training and support for: RTA GRADE ADMINISTRATION TRAINING and RTA DATA MGT. SYSTEM TRAINING (MGT. OF AMERICA, INC).

Read to Achieve Data Management System
The Kentucky Department of Education in cooperation with MGT of America, Inc. created an online data system that allows Read to Achieve schools to view and analyze their student assessment data in many different ways. This system will allow teachers and administrators to make instructional decisions based on the data in a more efficient and timely manner.

The GRADE Assessment is the required diagnostic tool for all Read to Achieve schools.
