Mathematics Assessment

Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT)

The KCCT is a major component of the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS).  The results of this test are used to evaluate the school program in the state accountability system. The results from the reading and math content areas are also used to meet federal testing and reporting requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).

Committee for Mathematics Achievement

The Committee for Mathematics Achievement was established for the purposes of developing a multifaceted strategic plan to improve student achievement in mathematics at all levels of schooling, prekindergarten through postsecondary and adult.

 

Kentucky Center for Mathematics

Kentucky Center for Mathematics (KCM) was established to make available professional development for teachers in reliable, research-based diagnostic assessment and intervention strategies, coaching and mentoring models, and other programs in mathematics. KCM supports diverse teacher and student populations across the Commonwealth by facilitating the development of mathematical proficiency, power for future success, and enjoyment of teaching and learning mathematics.

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)
The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) Program was established in 1983 by The White House and is sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The program identifies outstanding mathematics and science teachers, kindergarten through 12th grade, in each state and the four U.S. jurisdictions. These teachers will serve as models for their colleagues and will be leaders in the improvement of science and mathematics education.
