Teachers from Ft. Thomas Independent, Elizabethtown Independent, and Anchorage Independent worked together to design a K-12 mathematics curriculum document that not only aligned Kentucky's Core Content and Program of Studies, but, more effectively, identified teaching strategies and classroom activities that would help teachers implement and teach a rigorous curriculum.

Anita Davis, assistant superintendent of Elizabethtown Independent Schools noticed the positive results after a teacher from E-town began implementing the new curriculum.  "Teachers were excited about the opportunity to meet with other teachers in their discipline to learn how others were teaching the Core Content.  Ironically, they were even comforted to hear that other teachers were struggling with similar instructional issues, but now they had a forum for finding solutions," Davis said.
