Overview and Program of Studies for Pathways to Careers

Last Updated on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 5:02 AM

The curriculum materials for Pathway to Careers were revised and updated to help teachers prepare students for competing in today’s workforce.  These materials include updates in relation to technology, preparation for careers, and skills for the 21st Century.  The materials may be used by any certified teacher implementing the Pathways to Careers program.

The curriculum is based on content materials identified in the Career and Technical Education Program of Studies and encompasses the goals for Kentucky schools, academic expectations, correlation to the program of studies, Practical Living/Career Studies, sample activities and resources.  Units of instruction can be adapted to accommodate the various types of schedules such as semester, trimester and others.

To aid the teacher in using activities in the units, the writers have developed some supplements, and they are ready to copy.  Others may need to be altered to suit specific classroom needs.  Some are meant to be samples to provide the teacher with ideas for his or her own version.
