STLP SHOWCASE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

            (FRANKFORT, Ky.) – Thirty-seven participants were named Top Showcase Projects in the second annual Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) State Championship, held last Thursday and Friday, May 10 and 11, at the Lexington Convention Center.

            Students competed in many areas of technology, with 230 schools from across the state represented in the showcase.

       The top three showcase projects will participate in the National Educational Computer Conference (NECC) in Atlanta,Georgia, on June 26. Those three are:

  • Kathryn Winn Primary School, Carroll County
  • Metcalfe County School District
  • Elizabethtown High School, Elizabethtown Independent

           Other showcase winners and runners-up are as follows. Winners in other STLP State Championship categories will be posted on the Department of Education’s Web site after May 30.

          STLP is a project-based learning program that empowers students in all grade levels to use technology to learn and achieve. It was established in 1994 by the STLP State Advisory Council, which is composed of teachers, students and community leaders. The program is open to all students in all grade levels in every school in Kentucky.
