(FRANKFORT, Ky.) –The Kentucky Department of Education will release 2005-06 nonacademic data for public schools on Thursday, May 24.
The data will be available on the department’s Web site at http://www.education.ky.gov at noon EDT.
Non-academic data is comprised of dropout, graduation, retention, attendance and successful transition to adult life rates. Each rate contributes a specific percentage to a school's overall accountability index.
Data from the fall administration of the 8th-grade EXPLORE and 10th-grade PLAN assessments, required by Senate Bill 130, also will be released on Thursday. That data also will be available on the department’s Web site at noon EDT.
The release of nonacademic data is one component of the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS). The other component -- the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) results -- will be released in early fall. Reading and mathematics information from the KCCT will be released in August to comply with federal NCLB mandates.
