(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- The State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children invites parents of children with disabilities, education leaders and professionals and other interested citizens to a public hearing scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, at the Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in Gilbertsville.
The public hearing is a part of the panel's June meeting, which will be held at the Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park. The primary purpose of the panel is to advise the Kentucky Department of Education's Division of Exceptional Children Services on issues concerning the education of children and youth with disabilities.
Attendees are invited to express their comments regarding any issues in the education of children and youth with educational disabilities during the public hearing. There also will be an opportunity for participants to meet panel members.
The Governor appoints panel members, and meetings are held in January, April, June and October.
