(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- The Kentucky Department of Education and the Kentucky Center for School Safety will host a news conference Friday, September 12, to announce the dates for this year's Kentucky Safe Schools Week.
The news conference will begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT at Collins Lane Elementary School in Franklin County.
Kentucky Education Commissioner Gene Wilhoit and Center for School Safety Director Jon Akers are among the featured speakers.

Versailles Road to Frankfort
Turn left onto US 676/East-West Connector (third stoplight after the I-64 interchange; Kentucky State Police Post on the left)
At the 4th stoplight on 676, turn right onto Collins Lane
The school is a few hundred yards ahead on the right -- the address is 1 Cougar Lane.
From Louisville:
I-64 east to Frankfort
Take Exit 53B (US 127-Frankfort)
Drive about 2 miles, then turn right onto US 60 (large intersection with a Speedway on the left)
At the next stoplight, turn right onto Collins Lane
The school is on the left just a few hundred yards away -- the address is 1 Cougar Lane.
