(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- Kentucky Education Commissioner Gene Wilhoit will complete his tour of high schools in mid-April.
The visits are designed to give school staffs, students and administrators opportunities to discuss issues, activities and challenges with the commissioner. Many of the schools to be visited have shown marked progress in the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS), have low dropout rates or have implemented programs to meet their students' individual needs.
Previously, he visited Woodford County High School, Male High School, Pikeville High School and Marshall County High School.
The final visits are scheduled as follows:
- Wednesday, April 9, 11:45 a.m. EDT -- Lloyd High School (Erlanger-Elsmere Independent)
- Friday, April 11, 9:45 a.m. CDT -- Hancock County High School
- Wednesday, April 16, 10:45 a.m. EDT -- Lewis County High School
- Thursday, April 17, 10 a.m. EDT -- Corbin High School
The commissioner will tour the schools and meet with teachers, students and administrators.
