(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- The P-16 Council will meet Thursday, March 13, in the State Board Room of the Capital Plaza Tower in Frankfort.
At 9 a.m., the council will lead an American Diploma Project policy panel review. The council's regular business meeting will follow. Agenda items include a report on local P-16 Councils and information about the 2003 CPE Advising Conference.
The P-16 Council is composed of representatives from the Kentucky Board of Education and the commissioner of education; the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and the council president; the Education Professional Standards Board; the Governor's Office of Early Childhood Development; and the Cabinet for Workforce Development. Created in 1999, the council advises the Board of Education and the Council on Postsecondary Education on the education of teachers, the alignment of competency standards and the elimination of barriers impeding student transition from preschool through the baccalaureate.
