DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide consultative services and technical assistance to local school system personnel, classroom teachers, and other state and private agencies in planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring of the federal Carl D. Perkins legislation.
Provide technical assistance to local school districts in the implementation of Perkins IV.
Review and approve local district application grant awards in compliance with Perkins IV legislation. Collaborate with the Office of Career and Technical Education on issues relating to local district issues.
Coordinate the teacher certification process for occupational-based teachers in Career and Technical Education.
Monitor local school districts regarding Perkins implementation and accountability.
Plan, organize, and facilitate professional development for local school districts with regard to Perkins implementation and accountability.
Serve on KDE committees/teams/scholastic reviews as appropriate. Collaborate with state and national agencies in regard to Perkins accountability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in education. Must have five years of professional experience in the field of education, vocational education or a related field.
SUBSTITUTION CLAUSE:
Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement. Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the required educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment is given.
In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System.
Pay Grade: 15
Gross Monthly Salary Range: $3230.84 - $4280.10
