Twentieth Annual Pupil Transportation Conference
The Student Transportation Association of Kentucky (formerly the Kentucky Driver Trainer’s Association), in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education, will host the Twentieth Annual Pupil Transportation Conference at the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne in Louisville. The conference is scheduled for Sunday, June 24 through Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
Attendance at this conference fulfills the annual driver trainer instructor six hour update requirement. KDE will develop the curriculum to ensure that the requirement for an update is met.

All workshops will be held in the Ground Floor Auditorium/Capital Plaza Tower, 500 Mero Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, and are scheduled from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. EST. each day or when the day’s activities are completed.

To qualify for enrollment a candidate must:
· Possess two (2) years of bus driving experience
· Be nominated by his/her school district
Required materials to be brought to workshop with candidates will be explained in a letter to each school district. The letter will be sent to each school district approximately one month before each workshop. Candidates will be expected to download workshop materials from the KDE/Pupil Transportation web page prior to the class.

Any transportation director who wishes to have a new inspector trained this summer should fill out the 2012 New Inpector Training Request and return it to the Pupil Transportation Branch by July 1, 2012.
