Items from prior administrations of the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) are available in each content area and grade assessed. These items reflect current assessment items and can be used to provide students practice with the format and type of items found in the KCCT. The items are released to provide teachers and students examples of what to expect when taking the live KCCT each spring.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the KCCT was replaced with the Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP). The K-PREP assessment is a blended model of a Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT) and a Norm-Referenced Test (NRT) containing multiple-choice and constructed-response items.
