Using delayed delivery options in Outlook 2007 can make scheduling conflicts easier to navigate. For example, if you need to send a time-sensitive e-mail at 3 p.m. but also have a meeting scheduled for the same time, delayed e-mail delivery can help you meet both commitments.
The Outlook 2007 client allows you to schedule e-mail delivery for a future date and time. To use this option:
· start a new e-mail message
· click the Option tab on the ribbon
· click the Delay Delivery icon on the right
· select a delivery date and time
· click the Close button to close the window
· hit Send
The message will wait in the Outbox until the desired delivery date and time has arrived.
It’s important to note that Outlook 2007 needs to be open and running on your Internet-connected machine for messages to be sent when the delivery date and time arrives.
Delayed delivery is not an option in webmail.
