October 2011 - There will be NO ISN webcast for the month of October. Please take some time to view the Commissioner’s most recent Superintendents’ Webcast which focused on Kentucky’s NCLB waiver request. The most recent webcast will be forwarded as soon as it becomes available.

September 2011 - The next ISN webcast is scheduled for October 10 at 1:30pm EST .  The topics to be discussed include accountability, ISLN, Operation Preparation, science standards and a Kentucky Board of Education Update.

June 2011 - Webcast - There will not be a webcast for June or July. We will not publish a newsletter for July. We will resume newsletter distribution in August. Unbridled Learning Update - Standards for English/Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical Subjects

May 2011 - The next ISN webcast is scheduled for May 26  from 3 to 4:30 p.m. ET. Topics will be KDE updates, including leadership networks and school readiness.

March 2011 - The next ISN webcast is scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, at 3 p.m. ET. The topics will include school readiness, the Continuous Instructional Improvement Technology System (CIITS) and the College and Career Readiness agenda.

February 2011 - Webcast - The next ISN webcast is scheduled for Friday, February 25, 3:30pm EST. More information about the topics for this webcast will be forthcoming. Senate Bill 1 (2009) Update - Standards - KDE staff had a conversation with the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) standards writers on January 13, and the attached document contains the notes from that conversation.

January 13, 2011 - Webcasts - The December webcast has been archived. This was a joint webcast with David Couch, associate commissioner of the Office of Knowledge, Information and Data Systems (KIDS). The goal of this joint webcast was to strengthen the collaboration efforts between district technology coordinators and instructional supervisors.

November 23, 2010 - Upcoming Webcast -No November webcast is scheduled. A December webcast will be scheduled following the Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) meeting on Dec. 8 so that we may provide a timely update on related activities. Once a date is confirmed, the information will be forwarded.

October 22, 2010 - Webcasts - We hope the September 30 webcast on the Model Curriculum Framework and the Program Reviews was helpful. No webcast is scheduled for October. The next webcast will be in mid- to late November. As soon as the date is confirmed, this information will be forwarded.

September 17, 2010 - Upcoming Webcasts - Education Commissioner Terry Holliday will be hosting a webcast for superintendents on Monday, September 20 at 9:30 ET. Instructional supervisors are invited to participate. The webcast will cover the EduJobs funding, superintendent professional development for Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) implementation, recent budget cuts, SB 1 and the Kentucky Board of Education’s strategic plan, and the release of data from the Kentucky Statewide Longitudinal Data System (KSLDS) on September 23. Information on how to link to the webcast and the PowerPoint will be sent to you as soon as possible.

August 11, 2010 - Senate Bill 1 Update, Kentucky Core Academic Standards: During the 2010-11 academic year, schools and districts will begin to implement the Kentucky Core Academic Standards for mathematics and English/language arts. In order to assist with the transition to these standards, the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) has produced a crosswalk resource that will present the alignment of the Common Core State Standards, which were used to develop the Kentucky Core Academic Standards, and the current Kentucky standards found in the Program of Studies. While developing this crosswalk, KDE staff members used a tool and process designed by Achieve, Inc. This crosswalk matrix will benefit educators by presenting the standards alignment along with the strength of the alignment.
