Dental Exam Requirement for School Entrance
House Bill 186, passed by the 2008 General Assembly, directs the Kentucky Board of Education to promulgate administrative regulations that outline the requirements for a dental screening or examination for 5- or 6-year-old children entering school for the first time.
The law mandates that the dental screening or examination take effect beginning with the 2010-11 school year, rather than the current school year. Documentation forms will be made available prior to that school year.
