The School Nurse Train the Trainer Medication Administration Training webcasts are now available on the KY TRAIN website. KY TRAIN course numbers are posted on the KDE Health Services webpage under Medication Administration Train the Trainer information. This is a training course for school nurses who did not attend last year’s training on the KDE Medication Administration course.

The Medication Administration Training Manual for Unlicensed School Personnel is updated and now also includes the Study Guide. An Instructor’s Guide has been created that includes lesson plans, final exams and the skill competencies. There are no CD’s available and the Instructor’s Guide will not be posted on the KDE Health Services Website to protect the integrity of the final examination for the course.

Online Medication Administration Training
KDE and KY TRAIN have collaborated to develop an online training course for the unlicensed school personnel who received face to face training last year. The online training course is now available on https://ky.train.org.
School districts will still have responsibility to train unlicensed school personnel on local district policies, procedures and forms. The online training will have the final open book test that will also be graded online. It is still the local district responsibility to verify skill competency. Click here for more information
