The Kentucky Arts Council is a state agency in the Commerce Cabinet and offers several Arts In Education grants (listed below) to schools and communities.  http://artscouncil.ky.gov/Education/aiehome.htm

The ArtsStart! Grant places professional artists in Kentucky childcare facilities for 20 or 40 sessions to demonstrate their art form and share their creativity with children, directors and staff.  ArtsStart residencies include parent participation activities or events and promote awareness of the value the arts provide to the holistic development of young children.  Kindergarten classes may be part of the residency provided 50 percent or more of the residency is with a preschool program. http://artscouncil.ky.gov/Education/schprg .htm

The Alternative Connections Program Grant (formerly Youth Center Initiated Program) places professional artists in Kentucky alternative schools or juvenile justice facilities for 1 or 2 week residencies to demonstrate their art forms and share their creativity with students, teachers and staff.  Staff collaborates with artists on the design and implementation of short-term projects that lead to integration of the arts into daily programming. http://artscouncil.ky.gov/Education/schprg.htm

The Teacher Initiated Program (TIP) place professional artists in Kentucky schools and communities for 1 or 4 week residencies to plan and implement a project with teachers, demonstrate their art form, and support Kentucky's educational reform.  http://artscouncil.ky.gov/Education/schprg.htm

The School-Community-Arts-Parents Partnership (SCAPP) fosters the development of ongoing partnerships between Kentucky schools, communities, arts organizations and parents.  The focus of these partnerships is to promote arts integration and arts programming in the schools.  In addition to financial support, the Kentucky Arts Council will provide technical assistance and oversight in developing programs that will benefit all of the partners and ensure the programs' continuation after Council funding is completed.  http://artscouncil.ky.gov/Education/schprg.htm
