Budgets

Last Updated on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 6:32 PM

The primary charge of this staff is the supervision of all aspects of KDE’s annual and biennial budget creation and application.  Daily activities beyond actual budget analysis include expenditure authorizations, personnel approvals (budgeted versus actual cost comparison), personnel forecasting, closeout forecasting, and entering all EMARS requests for allotment or appropriation adjustments.

Our goal is to be considered service oriented through direct communication with all departmental program staff in an effort to provide training and instruction that will help each individual better understand and manage their respective part of the department’s budget.  Each member of the division has been assigned a designated portion of accounts to monitor and analyze on a daily basis.  Calculated budget decisions are made on the basis of these in-depth observations and shared with the respective program staff.

This division is an agency liaison with the Governor’s Office for Policy and Management (GOPM) as well as the Legislative Research Commission.
