The Kentucky Department of Education recognizes outstanding students, educators and schools through various awards and recognition programs.

 

Kentucky Teacher Forum

Kentucky Teacher of the Year Program
The Kentucky Department of Education and Ashland Inc. are seeking exemplary teachers through the 2009 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Program.   Teachers may complete the application at http://www.kentuckytoy.com/application/.   Nominate teachers at www.kentuckytoy.com. Teachers who are nominated will receive a copy of the application via mail or e-mail.


 

Milken Family Foundation Educator Awards
The Milken Family Foundation Educator Awards are sponsored by the Milken Family Foundation, and include a $25,000 stipend to two Kentucky educators. The award also includes an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. for a national conference and awards ceremony. United States Senate Youth
Each year, two Kentucky students are selected to receive a $5,000 scholarship and a one-week internship in Washington, DC, through this program, which is sponsored by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.
