Each year, two Kentucky students are selected to receive a $5,000 scholarship and a one-week internship in Washington, DC, through this program, which is sponsored by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.
The Department of Education sends applications each fall to every public and private high school. Applications should be arrive in all schools by October 15th. The applications should be returned postmarked no later than November 30th. Kentucky's winners are announced by the Hearst Foundation at year's end.
