Health Education

In Kentucky schools, we will deliver classroom instruction that addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions of health; develops health knowledge, attitudes, and skills; and is tailored to each age level.  It will motivate and assist students to maintain and improve their health, prevent disease, and reduce health-related risk behaviors.

 

National Health Education Standards - offer a coherent vision of what it means to be health literate. These Standards describe the knowledge and skills essential to the development of health literacy.

 

Kentucky Curriculum Documents - The Program of Studies for Kentucky Schools Grades Primary-12 helps ensure that all students across the commonwealth are provided with common content and have opportunities to learn at a high level. The Core Content represents the content that has been identified as essential for all students to know and will be included on the state assessment.
