Enhancing Education Through Technology –ARRA—Request for Applications (RFA) 

The Kentucky Department of Education has recently posted an Enhancing Education Through Technology -- ARRA -- Request for Applications (RFA) on the KDE website.  Eligibility is limited to specific districts based on poverty factors using the 2007 Census Data.  District eligibility is based on percent and numbers of children ages 5-17 in poverty and a substantial need for assistance for acquiring and using technology.  Please see Appendix A included in the RFA for eligible districts.  This is a competitive grant section as defined in NCLB legislation passed in 2002 and the ARRA Act of 2009.  Please note the deadline to submit Intent to Apply is Friday, November 6.  The RFA can be accessed at the link below:

Interactive Shoplifting Prevention Program resources 

The Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) offers Law-Related Education (LRE), a series of educational programs designed to provide citizens with information about the law, the legal process and the fundamental principles and values that support our constitutional democracy. 

The AOC’s Department of Family and Juvenile Services is sponsoring an Interactive Shoplifting Prevention Program, which includes presentations by local court-designated workers and a coloring book, Bobby and the Court Designated Worker. The program is designed for grades 3 through 6 and is available at no cost.

KYSPRA Fall Conference coming soon 

The Kentucky School Public Relations Association’s (KYSPRA’s) Fall Conference is set for November 12 and 13 at the Embassy Suites in Lexington. 

“The Three Rs in Public Relations” provides workshops and sessions that focus on reviewing, responding and rejuvenating communications in school districts.
